Ben’s Story

Ben, in her late 40s, has been on a deeply personal journey of gender identity. Assigned male at birth, she carried years of fear, self-doubt, and uncertainty while knowing deep inside that she was meant to live as her true self. For a long time, the fear of judgment left her silent and isolated.
When Ben came to Evida Living, she brought with her both vulnerability and courage.
We created a space where she felt safe, respected, and free from judgment — a place where she could simply be herself. With compassion and listening, we supported her as she began to embrace her authentic identity.
Along the way, Ben connected with the LGBTQ+ community, built friendships, and found an inclusive church where her spiritual life and her identity could exist in harmony. Step by step, she began to express herself more openly — from choosing clothing that felt right to speaking her truth with confidence.
